Stampede Soccer Academy season in full swing https://www.ocalastampede.com/stampede-soccer-academy-season-in-full-swing/ https://www.ocalastampede.com/stampede-soccer-academy-season-in-full-swing/#respond Thu, 25 Sep 2014 15:14:44 +0000 https://www.ocalastampede.com/?p=2546 more »]]> With the fall soccer season in full swing, the Stampede Soccer Academy (SSA) has enjoyed the start to the season that is now in full swing with all of the teams in competition. The SSA now has 11 teams in competition and over 150 registered competitive soccer players in the first year as a club. The Ocala Stampede is excited about the SSA starting and growing in its first year and are excited to see the youth continue to grow and develop as soccer players.

The Stampede Soccer Academy’s first season is off to great start. Despite the ever present threat of Florida’s thunderstorms which lead to four game cancellations this past weekend, three teams managed to secure wins in GCF league play. The U17 Premier Boys team highlighted the weekend with a 9-1 victory. In addition, the U17 Elite Boys team won 3-1 and the U14 Boys won 3-1.

As wins and losses will always accumulate in a season, the SSA will stayed continued to be focused on development and team and individual performances. The SSA has already sent teams to compete in tournaments such as the Disney Qualifier and Players Labor Day Tournament and is sending teams in the coming weeks to the Adidas Columbus Day Classic, Bazooka Soccer Classic, and Orlando City Cup.

The SSA has all of its teams competing in the GCF Soccer League this fall. As rain soaked fields have been a common theme across the league, this fall season will be a good evaluation of where players and teams are at and the areas the teams need to focus on moving forward.

As this season goes on and the club continues to grow, we would to make sure that we thank Club Director Mac McCarthy and Club Registrar Debbie Bernardo for their work in preparation for this fall season.
